Truth Summary
Removing Glenda Ritz as Chairman of the State Board of Education (SBOE) is not an attack on Indiana voters. It is simply an effort to eliminate the dysfunction we've seen on full display over the last two years, and it's no surprise we've seen such dysfunction. Indiana is one of only two states with its current setup: an elected superintendent who automatically serves as chair of the SBOE. Voters also elected our governor, not to mention the lawmakers who fill our House and Senate to create policy. There's a reason Indiana's set-up is not a popular one, and this is a common-sense change.
